Below are some opportunities to enhance your spiritual life:
“Made For A Miracle” From Your Ordinary to God’s Extraordinary
Throughout Lent, join us for any one of our Lenten studies as we move from our ordinary, to God’s extraordinary!
- Sundays 9:30 am – Jenn & Brian Linton
- Tuesdays 10:30 am – Betty Smith
- Tuesdays 6:30 pm – Betty Smith
- Thursdays 11:00 am – Pastor Rebecca
At some time in our lives, most of us have prayed for or hoped for a miracle—an event that seems impossible but is brought about by God’s transcendent power. But when miracles occur, did you know that you have a role to play?
If that’s true, what’s the catch? What do we have to do? What’s it going to cost us?
Popular author and pastor Mike Slaughter examines the two components of every miracle: divine action and human responsibility. For a real miracle to take place, we must act with God, using whatever gifts, talents, and abilities we have and directing them toward God’s work. We need to follow the examples of Mary in the birth of Jesus, Jesus’ followers when he healed them, and Jesus’ disciples after he rose from the dead.
This Lent and Easter, use your God-given gifts and talents for God’s glory, and get ready to be made for a miracle.
Tuesdays, 10:30 am & 6:30 pm, Library
N.T Wright’s “ACTS: 24 Studies for Individuals and Groups.” We call Acts “The Acts of the Apostles,” but we should think of it as “The Acts of Jesus: Part Two.” These studies help us to do so, and to see how Jesus’ acts through the apostles inform and empower our acts today. Thoughtful questions, prayer suggestions, and useful background and cultural information all guide you more deeply into God’s Word.
The study of ACTS will take a break during Lent and resume on Tuesday May 7th.
Wednesdays, 12:00 pm noon, Prayer Group
With all the growth and activity in our church and having learned about developing a life of prayer, our church has embarked on a journey in praying together. Pastor Rebecca leads a prayer meeting in the Chapel every Wednesday at noon. Scripture and a prayer outline are provided for us to pray together for our church, its people, and other concerns brought to us. This meeting generally lasts between 30-40 minutes, and you can add people/situations/prayers of your own. There is a deep sense of “joy” in coming together with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, praying to God for our church and one another.
